Visualize Metadata in Bar Graphs
Understand your image catalog at a glance
When working with a large photo collection, metadata is your best friend. It tells you where, when, and how your images were captured, plus any custom information you’ve added over time. But combing through metadata manually is tedious. Enter Photo Supreme’s Details section, where metadata isn’t just text: it’s visual! Explore how to use Photo Supreme’s bar graph feature to gain clear, actionable insight into your photo catalog. Whether you're reviewing camera usage, cleaning up inconsistent entries, or tracking custom tags, this feature can save time and sharpen your workflow.
Why Visualize Metadata?
Let’s say you want to know:
Which camera you use most
Where your photos are most often taken
How your ISO values are distributed
Whether your custom "Client" field is consistently used
Rather than scroll through thousands of entries, the bar graph feature in the Details section shows you the top 10 most frequent values for any metadata field at a glance.
How to Access Metadata Graphs in Photo Supreme
Go to the top menu and click on Details to open the Details view.
On the left-hand panel, you'll see a structured tree of metadata categories.
From here, you can drill down into the metadata field you want to inspect.

Custom Fields
Your Custom Fields > [Field Name](e.g., Event Name, Client, Photographer Type: whatever you’ve defined)
What you'll see
When you select a field (e.g., City), the right-hand panel displays a bar chart:
Top 10 values in your catalog for that field
Number of occurrences for each
You can click on a bar to view all images for that specific value. This is perfect for spotting trends, imbalances, or metadata inconsistencies (like “New York” vs. “NYC”).
